Retired boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. has been ordered to pay $340,000 following a bitter legal battle over unpaid rent at a luxe Manhattan condo.

A New York state judge entered a default judgement against the former athlete in the case involving dwelling owners Leila and David Centner, who rented him their property, which was located at the Baccarat Hotel and Residences.

The Centners purchased two units in the building, on the 18th and 19th floors, for over $15 million.

They then rented out one of the properties—which is situated at 20 West 53rd St.—to Mayweather Jr. for $100,000 a month—in 2024.

However, the arrangement eventually sparked a legal battle after Mayweather allegedly stopped making his monthly payments midway through the following year.

The owners sued through an LLC, seeking to recover unpaid rent and damages.

Although the amount sought initially totaled $500,000, the parties reached a settlement allowing Mayweather to pay a reduced sum by Dec. 2, 2025.

Although they attempted to contact him several times, Mayweather allegedly left each message unanswered.

However, the former athlete remained active on social media, with a stack of cash, prompting the owners to reach out to the new listing agent, Rena Kliot of Pulse International Realty.

"They sent it to me and said, ‘well how about using some of that money to pay us,’” Kliot previously told The Real Deal.

The owners and Kliot sold the property for $20 million last week.

Now, the default judgement marks their latest efforts to collect their funds.
