Best Neighborhoods to Move to Near Nike
Nike's World Headquarters sits on a sprawling campus in unincorporated Washington County, just west of Beaverton, and it shapes housing demand across the surrounding area. Employees relocating for the job, along with contractors, vendors, and adjacent tech workers, tend to ask the same question first: which neighborhoods actually make sense for a short commute without giving up livability.
The swoosh is everywhere in Washington County, right down to the neighborhoods surrounding it
Cedar Mill
Cedar Mill sits north of the Nike campus and offers one of the more established, tree covered settings in the area. Homes tend to be mid-century and 1970s to 1990s construction on larger lots, with a mix of ranch and split-level styles. The neighborhood has its own library branch and a walkable town center that has grown over the past decade. Commute times to Nike run 10 to 15 minutes outside peak traffic.
Bethany
Bethany is the newer construction option, with planned communities built primarily from the late 1990s through today. It draws families for the Beaverton School District options, including Bethany Elementary and Sunset High School, and for amenities like the Bethany Village shopping center. Lots are smaller and HOAs are common. Commute times to Nike run 10 to 20 minutes depending on the specific pocket.
Murrayhill and South Beaverton
Murrayhill sits closest to the Nike campus among the areas we typically show, often putting the commute under 10 minutes. Housing is a mix of 1980s and 1990s subdivisions, generally more affordable per square foot than Cedar Mill or Bethany. Progress Ridge TownSquare gives the area a walkable retail and dining hub that did not exist a generation ago.
"Proximity to campus matters, but so does the drive. Cedar Mill and Bethany trade a slightly longer commute for more house and better schools, while Murrayhill puts you closest at the cost of some square footage."

West Slope and Raleigh Hills
West Slope and Raleigh Hills sit between the Nike campus and downtown Portland, which appeals to buyers who need flexibility for a partner working elsewhere in the metro. These are established neighborhoods with older homes, mature trees, and no HOA in most pockets. The tradeoff is a housing stock that often needs updating and a narrower supply of new listings at any given time.
What to Weigh Before Choosing
- School district boundaries change block by block in this area, so confirm assignment before falling in love with a house.
- Traffic on Highway 26 and Cornell Road backs up predictably at peak hours, which can add 10 to 15 minutes regardless of neighborhood.
- Newer construction in Bethany often comes with HOA dues that should be factored into monthly cost comparisons against older homes in Cedar Mill or West Slope.
- If a spouse or partner commutes downtown, West Slope and Raleigh Hills offer the more balanced compromise.
Relocating for a Job Near Nike?
I help relocating employees compare these neighborhoods against real commute times, school boundaries, and budget, so the decision is based on facts rather than guesswork.
