By Brandon Sawyer – Data Editor, Portland Business JournalJanuary 23, 2020
Portland real estate activity last year was a mixed bag, though sales remained brisk in some areas.
Home sales in 103 ZIP codes in Clackamas, Clark (Wash.), Multnomah and Washington counties dipped -0.2 percent to 36,154 total homes sold.
The median time it took to sell a house took almost three days longer than in 2018, creeping up to 19.4 days on average across those ZIP codes.
However, median prices continued to rise in most neighborhoods, reaching $425,867 on average, a 2.5 percent.
Notably, six of 2018's top 10 returned to the top 10 in 2019 and seven of them lie in Portland city limits this year versus six last year.
Joining to the top 50 in 2019 are Hazelwood/Fairview (97230) and Fircrest/Countryside Woods, Wash.(98684) as Parkrose/Sumner (97220), Gladstone (97027), Forest Grove (97116) and Rockwood (97233) fell out after making last year's top 52.
